Discover the most up and coming wine region of Crete, through a unique sensory experience in the Chania countryside!
We pick up our guests from their accommodation, in Chania, and we head towards Omalos.
After a pleasant drive through an area surrounded by orange and lemon groves we arrive at the Nostos Winey of the Manousakis family in the village of Vatolakkos. There we will be greeted by the winery’s sommelier Afshin Molavi. He will give us a short introduction of the winery and after a short walk through the orange grove and by the old stone winery, we will arrive at the new wine production building. Our guests will be guided through the premises of this ultra-modern 100% organic production facility and will learn all about wine making from harvest to bottling. Later we will taste 5 different wines alfresco at the tasting patio.
After the end of our visit we will go back to the highway and head further west. We will take the road that leads to Tavronitis and soon we will approach the area of Anoskeli. Surrounded by a peaceful natural environment, we will arrive at the Anovkeli Winey and Olive Mill.
We will begin our tour at the Olive Mill, where we will talk about the entire process of the olive oil production, from the harvest to the bottle. The we will visit the winery and talk about the wine making procedure. Last we will go in the tasting room where we will taste 5 different wines accompanied by a small platter of cheese and other local products.
After our visit to Anoskeli, we will take a short drive to the village of Vouves, home of the oldest Olive Tree in the world! In the local taverna, right next to the tree, Katerina and her family will offer us a table full of local delicacies, accompanied by half a bottle of wine per person.
